December 13! Shopping is 90% done around here. I may do a bit of holiday baking next week, but mostly I’m going to be quilting my butt off until the new year. That WIP list is getting shorter but there is a still a lot to do.
1. Love Panes quilt {binding}
2. Plume Charms quilt {quilting + binding}
3. Fussy Cut Bee {piece top}
4. Modern Siggy Swap 2 {piece top}
5. Wonderland in Aqua {make backing + baste}
6. Gridlock: Summer Palette {make backing + baste}
7. Happy Campers {piece top}
8. Red + Aqua Strings {make backing + baste}
9. Far, Far, Away 2 plum {piece top}
10. Evangeline in Paris {complete all cutting}
11. Black, White, and Aqua {piece top}
Yes, I added an eleventh item to the list. The black, white, and aqua quilt is from a bee, and all of the work was essentially done so I pieced the top this past Sunday. Tonight I will finish up with the Plume Charms quilting, mainly due to a gift from my husband.

It’s a headlamp! Quilting light thread on a light fabric gets pretty difficult after a while, especially late at night. My husband came home with one of these for himself last week and I immediately knew that I had to have one, too. It really does make such a difference, and it provides better light than any lamp I’ve used. It lights up what you’re looking at. Plus, it makes such a fashion statement when worn with quilting gloves.

I have that exact same headlamp! I was borrowing my son’s so I could quilt in the car, even at night! My son went off to school and took his headlamp with him. :S Hubby bought one just for me!!
My boys have those headlamps – good idea! I have more WIPs than I brought to the meeting the other night and I finished a few up the other night, too! I finished 3 voile scarves, a pair of jeans (pegged them) and just have the binding to finish tonight on my two pillows. I’ve still got a few things to finish in the next couple weeks, so I might have a pretty good number to report at January’s meeting!
Oh my gosh, that headlamp is a fantastic idea!! I bet you were seriously styling in your quilty outfit, too, especially if your quilting gloves look as neon and gaudy as mine do. You’ve got a good bit of progress going on, too, so that’s awesome!
I bet it would coordinate nicely with your patchwork sweatshirt!
I’m not gonna lie, I totally have a headlamp too! My mum actually bought it for me as a joke when I first started University (I was originally an archaeology major), but now I use it for crafting when I don’t have enough light!
i use a headlamp too, especially when sewing dark thread on dark fabric! my husband thinks this is HILARIOUS, but it is so necessary. really saves the eyes! glad i’m not the only “sewing mole”
)
My oh my, oh my! Please tell me you are wearing quilting gloves with the headlamp!! ***ahemm, throat clear*** It’s actually a great idea, where can I get one?
See you Saturday, friend!!
You’re kicking booty on all the WIPs
BTW, I just finished off my To Do list yesterday – I had 9 projects to finish, and I finished them all. My sewing machine is on its way for a thorough year-end cleaning now!
A headlamp and a skateboard are my favorite quilting
tools!
